Securement Dressings Manufacturer for IV & Catheter Fixation

Zhuopu Medical supplies securement dressings and medical fixation products for IV access, catheter stabilization, surgical-site protection and supplemental device fixation. The Medical Care range includes Medical I.V. Dressings, Catheter Fixing Dressings, Surgical Incise Drapes, Silicone Tape and Silk Tape.

Choosing a securement dressing requires more than matching an overall size. The catheter or device type, insertion-site visibility, moisture level, dressing geometry, fixation structure and packaging requirements all affect whether a product is suitable for your application.

Choose a Securement Product by What You Need to Stabilize

Procurement Need Product Type When to Consider It
Visible IV or catheter site Transparent Medical I.V. Dressing When routine visual inspection of the insertion site is important
PICC, CVC or urinary catheter fixation Catheter Fixing Dressing When the dressing needs to stabilize a catheter while maintaining access to the insertion area
Operative-site barrier Surgical Incise Drape For surgical procedures requiring an adhesive film over the operative area
Gentle supplemental fixation Silicone Tape When lower-trauma removal and conformability are priorities
Strong roll-tape fixation Silk Tape For securing dressings, tubing or other medical components where a textile-backed tape is preferred

Transparent IV & Catheter Securement Dressings

Transparent constructions are useful when clinicians need to inspect the insertion site without removing the dressing. Zhuopu's current Medical I.V. Dressing range uses transparent PU film with absorbent components and reinforced borders, while the transparent catheter fixing option is designed around visible site inspection and catheter stabilization.

For sourcing, do not select a transparent dressing by length and width alone. Confirm the catheter type, hub position, required adhesive area and whether the dressing needs an integrated pad, reinforced border or dedicated fixation geometry.

Absorbent and Reinforced Catheter Fixing Dressings

A more reinforced or absorbent construction may be appropriate when basic transparent film does not provide the required combination of fixation and moisture management.

Zhuopu's current Medical Care range includes a High-Absorbency Bordered Catheter Fixing Dressing with a reinforced stabilization pad. When comparing this type with a standard transparent dressing, evaluate the required visibility area, absorbent zone, border design and catheter position rather than comparing only overall dimensions.

Surgical Incise Drapes

Surgical incise drapes serve a different purpose from IV or catheter securement dressings. Zhuopu offers transparent surgical incise drapes and an iodine-containing surgical incise drape format within the Medical Care range.

Keep these products specified separately from catheter securement products because operative-site coverage, adhesive area and intended procedure differ from vascular-access fixation.

Silicone and Silk Tapes for Supplemental Fixation

Medical tapes can supplement dressing or device fixation, but they should not automatically be treated as a replacement for a purpose-designed catheter securement dressing.

Silicone tape is suited to applications where gentle removal and skin contact are important. Silk tape provides a textile-backed option when stronger general-purpose fixation is required.

How to Select a Dressing by Catheter and Site Condition

Peripheral IV Access

For peripheral IV applications, prioritize:

  • clear access to the insertion site when visual monitoring is required;

  • enough adhesive area around the catheter without interfering with the hub;

  • a conformable construction for the hand, arm or other placement area;

  • moisture management appropriate to the expected wear conditions.

A smaller dressing is not automatically better for a peripheral IV. The dressing still needs sufficient adhesive contact around the catheter and a geometry that does not place unnecessary tension on the hub.

PICC and Central Venous Catheters

PICC and CVC securement normally requires more attention to dressing geometry because the catheter, hub and lumens occupy more space than a simple peripheral cannula.

When specifying a PICC or CVC dressing, confirm:

  • overall dressing dimensions;

  • transparent observation area;

  • catheter and hub position;

  • cutout, notch or other required geometry;

  • reinforced fixation area;

  • absorbent components, if required;

  • sterile packaging requirements.

Zhuopu's current catheter fixing range includes products intended for PICC and CVC applications. Exact compatibility should be confirmed against the catheter configuration before a bulk order.

Urinary / Foley Catheter Fixation

Urinary catheter fixation has a different movement pattern from vascular-access dressing applications. A suitable design must account for tube direction, body contour, expected tension and the required contact area.

Zhuopu's catheter fixing product range includes an option described for Foley/urinary catheter stabilization. For OEM projects, provide the intended tube or catheter information so the required shape and fixation area can be evaluated.

Moisture, Oozing and High-Movement Sites

Site condition should influence dressing selection.

A transparent film construction is useful where visibility is important and the site condition is appropriate for film coverage. Where greater moisture handling is needed, an absorbent or hybrid construction may be more suitable.

For high-movement areas, evaluate border stability, conformability and the location of the catheter hub. Do not assume that increasing adhesive strength alone solves movement-related edge lift; dressing geometry and contact area also matter.

Dressing-change intervals should follow the applicable product instructions, clinical protocol and actual dressing condition. A dressing that becomes loose, damp or visibly soiled should not be treated as suitable simply because a stated maximum wear period has not been reached.

Where Our Securement Dressings Are Used

  • ICU and critical care — central line stabilization
  • Dialysis centers — vascular access protection
  • Ambulatory surgery centers — incision-site coverage
  • Home healthcare — long-term catheter or feeding-tube management

Specifications That Determine Securement Performance

Backing Material and Site Visibility

Common securement dressing constructions include transparent PU film, soft nonwoven materials and film/nonwoven combinations.

Transparent PU film provides site visibility and a thin conformable covering. Nonwoven or hybrid constructions can provide additional structural support or accommodate absorbent components.

The correct option depends on whether your priority is continuous site visibility, additional reinforcement, moisture management or a combination of these requirements.

Fixation Geometry and Dressing Size

Overall length × width is only one part of a securement dressing specification.

Adhesion, Breathability and Absorbent Structure

These parameters need to be considered together.

Higher adhesion is not automatically the preferred specification if removal may increase skin trauma. Likewise, a highly breathable film still needs sufficient fixation for the intended device and wear conditions.

Sterility and Packaging

Sterile status, individual packaging and labeling should be confirmed at SKU level.

For international procurement, specify whether you need:

  • sterile or other required product configuration;

  • individual pouch packaging;

  • units per box and boxes per carton;

  • private-label artwork;

  • language-specific labeling;

  • barcode or distributor information;

  • documents required for your destination market.

Do not assume that two products with the same dressing dimensions have the same sterilization or packaging specification.

Custom Securement Dressing Options for OEM Projects

Zhuopu Medical supports OEM/ODM development for medical dressings and tapes. Current customization capabilities published by Zhuopu include custom materials, sizes and functions, private-label packaging and breathability requirements.

For a securement dressing project, customization can be discussed around:

Customization Area Information to Provide
Material construction Transparent film, nonwoven or required composite structure
Dimensions Overall dimensions and usable adhesive area
Shape / geometry Drawing, cutout, notch or sample
Functional structure Transparent window, absorbent area, reinforced area or other required elements
Breathability requirement Target application and performance requirement
Branding Logo, label and artwork
Primary packaging Pouch format and labeling
Secondary packaging Box/carton quantity and private-label requirements

Not every modification is applicable to every SKU. For projects involving a new geometry or functional structure, send a drawing or reference sample so feasibility can be evaluated before quotation and sample development.
